So our first day in San Diego we went to Knott's Berry Farm. It was a fun place. Kayden was super brave. He went on the scariest ride first. (Of course he didn't know that.) He rode with me. It was call ghost rider. It was an old rickety wooden roller coaster. It made me sick. Kayden didn't love it but he didn't cry like I thougth he might. Keegan however through the biggest fit because he wanted to ride on it. He was way too little to ride on it. The kid would was helping people on and off thought it was funny that a three year old would even think it looked like fun!
This is the place! If you ask the boys what was the highlight of their trip to San Diego they would tell you LEGOLAND!! They loved it. I could post a 100 pictures of this place but I wont. We had a blast. Keegan could go on all but one ride. (To which he promptly through a fit about.) This was and is one of those places that we love and will have many fun memories of. Slava and I loved it because the boys loved it. The weather was perfect, not too hot not too cold.
We had free ticket to LegoLands new Sea Life Aquarium so we stopped by before we headed to the beach. The boys loved it. Kayden was suppose to write a report on jelly fish so we were in the right spot.
One of the highlights of our vacation was the day at the beach. All of loved it. The beach was a little more rocky then we are accustom to. And because of the hurricanes that were in Mexico at the time, there was a lot of sea weed around. Kayden thought it was great. They were studying the ocean in school, so he brought home sea weed and sea shells for his class.
Of course we have to have our customary "SAND" picture with San Diego and the date. Although you can't read it well.
One morning we went to the U.S. Midway. The boys loved the huge ship. On deck was a number of helicopters and different air crafts. The boys had fun climbing in, on and around all of them. W e also got to tour the ship. Keegan loved playing in the "war" room. They let kids push all the buttons and levers.
So I can hardly believe it has been 10 years since Ky was born and 8 1/2 years since he passed away. To think I could have a 10-year old is crazy. Man, does that make me old or what!
Keegan and his swimming teacher, Christy. Keegan loved swimming lessons once he got used to the idea that he had to listen to his teacher!
Keegan and Miss Christy.
Kayden also took swimming lessons. He had the same teacher as Keegan, Miss Christy. Christy was a great teacher and Kayden learned a lot from her. He is getting to be a really good swimmer.
Kayden learning to dive off of the diving block. There was only one other kid in Kayden's class, so it was like getting private lessons. I love it when I get my money's worth!
Our sign in case you were wondering where the Perry Family Reunion was!
We got all the grandkids together (some were willing and others were not so much!) for a picture for Grandma-pa Perry. Believe it or not it says "We "heart" U." We missed having them there with us, but we were thinking of them the whole time! For those who are not aware grandma-pa Perry are serving a mission in Samara, Russia. They will be home in a few months! The count down is on!
Keegan loved playing in the sand. (It was one of those pictures you just had to have!)
As you can tell, Kayden also loved playing in the sand and with all of his cousins. He misses having them closer.
More playing in the sand. The cousins loved playing together and they all got along great.
Slava giving the wake board a try. What a good looking guy!
Now it is my turn. Hurray! Don't I look like a pro? Don't worry I am not going to quit my day job. Oh, that's right, I don't have a day job. :)
There was a LOT of talking going on. This is me and my beautiful sisters Mesha, Alisa, Me and Jana. Kirston was on the boat. And yes, she is beautiful too!
There was some canoeing going on. This is me giving it a shot. Slava took the canoe way too far out for a picture so you get me. Kayden even did it. However, I didn't get a picture of that either.
Devin and Kim gave a wonderful FHE lesson on letting go or our hurt feelings and hard feelings toward others. They did a great job. We wrote all the bad things people have done to us on a balloon and then we "let them go." Hopefully I will be better about letting things go and forgiving others quicker. It was something that I needed to hear and remember.
I finally got it finished. (Almost, I still have a few things to hang up.) It was so easy and I did most of it myself. Slava helped me with a couple of things. Yeah me. Best of all, Kayden really likes it. He loves to sit and look at the planes above his bed. I like it because it is a little more grownup. Hopefully it will work until he is a teenager or I get the itch to redo it!This is not "appopiate" me, this is not "appopiate" me.
